Adding gifts to your gotVCU.com wish list is simple, easy and fun. Creating a wish list
with gotVCU.com allows you to add gifts from any store in the world. You can add
items from reputable universal stores such as Amazon.com and Target.com, and you may
also include unique offline items from the boutique down the street. Adding many items
will turn your account into a stylishly-displayed wish list with clear images, detailed gift
titles and the item's price and availability. As a member, you have the option to leave detailed
notes (such as color, size or any other preference) about an item. As a guest, the notes
left regarding the presents can be utilized to allow you to purchase the exact product
requested by the member.
Installing the ‘Gotta Have It!' browser button is all it takes to get you on your way to never receiving
a gift you didn't want. You can add all types of items to your wish list—there are no limits!
Choose traditional items such as electronics (TV's, iPods or Camcorders), furniture (futons, desks or chairs),
or bed and bath accessories (comforters, sheets or towels). For a more creative approach, select
items that suit your personality, including unique gifts such as snowboarding lessons, a skydiving
excursion, concert tickets or plane tickets for Spring Break.
Once items are added to the wish list, you’ll be given the option to create categories to divide the
type of gifts you’ve chosen. Creating categories organizes items either by type
(clothes or housewares) or by occasion and events (birthdays, graduations, holidays).
gotVCU.com designed this feature for our members to reuse their wish list over and over.
To begin adding items to your gift list, simply log in to your gotVCU.com account and
click the 'Gotta Have It!' button link below the 'Welcome' tab. In the instruction page,
select a browser (the selection box is above step 1). gotVCU.com offers instructions
for Internet Explorer, AOL, FireFox, Mozilla, Netscape and Safari browsers.
Follow the simple instructions on how to install the ‘Gotta Have It!” button, and it will appear on your browser.
The next step is where the real fun begins. Now, visit any online store you wish, and add potential
presents for yourself. Simply find the product on the store's item page (not from a shopping cart)
and click the ‘Gotta Have It!' button, located on your browser, while you remain on that store's
item page. The 'Add this Gift' window will pop up and you’ll need to add the quantity desired, price
and select a currency if it is outside of the United States. If you’re unsure of what items to add
to your wish list, you may utilize our 'Gift Ideas' feature (click the 'Gift Ideas' tab) which offers
a large variety of retailers and categories to suit all of your needs. The 'Gift Ideas' section offers
items ranging from Computers, Apparel, Jewelry, Electronics, Dorm Supplies and Sporting Goods, to name a few.
Once you locate an item you want to add to your gift wish list (by clicking the category list or by using search
keywords), all you have to do is click the ‘Gotta Have It!' button and the gift will automatically appear on
your wish list for guests to purchase for you.
When you add a gift, include additional notes and details regarding that item. If you created categories, you may select one from the drop-down list to
make sure the item will automatically be placed exactly where you want. In case the image of
the item is incorrect, you can click the small square box below the image and select another
image from the image list located on the right hand side of the 'Add this Gift' window. Once
you have included all the details of your present-to- be, simply click the 'Add this Gift to
your wish list' button and that item will be instantly added to your wish list account.
You always have an option to view your wish list as a visitor to get an idea of what others
will see when they access your wish list. The moment you add an item to your wish list with the
‘Gotta Have It!’ button, click the 'View My wish list with the New Item' button located in the '
Add this gift to your wish list' window. You can also view your wish list as a visitor while you are
logged into your account. Click the 'View what your visitors see ' link, located at the top of your wish list,
and it will automatically take you to your wish list to see the wonderful set-up you created for your visitors
with just a few simple clicks.
